Taiwan you definitely stole my heart!
As you guys know, Taiwan wasn’t my first choice for my semester abroad. actually it was my third and I put it on my list literally 1 minute before I had to hand in my application. I wasn’t really serious with that as I thought, I’m going to London anyways! Yeah, it turned out differently and I dunno who I should thank for ending up in Taiwan.
As I’m convinced that everything in life happens for a reason, even when it turns out that we just made a bad decision, it mostly contributes to something else which is supposed to happen, consequently there’s to be a reason why Taiwan chose me.
Being my first experience in Asia, I’m totally mesmerized. Furthermore, I’m surprised how much i fell in love with Taiwan; the freaking lovely, kind and helpful people, the language, the easy-to-go lifestyle, the delicious food of course, all the fresh fruits, teas and juices, even with the annoying stuffy weather.
Just one year ago, I couldn’t have imagined myself in an Asian country. I thought it would be impossible for me to adopt to such a different culture and life. Well, it seems I’m more flexible than i thought. It took me only 4 days till i thought, ‚I’m definitely in the right place on earth‘ and that was when I first explored my neighborhood and saw the Chan Kai Shek Memorial.
So for now, I just want to thank everyone who crossed my path and made my time in Taipei unforgettable. It was truly an adventure and showed me once more that I shouldn’t stop to travel. To travel taught me minimalism, tolerance, respect and different point of views which is far more important than grammar, mathematics or politics and what’s the newest gossip.
A short summery of the astonishing different sites and sights of Taipei only.
More about the life, the specifics and food in the upcoming posts.
Those pictures, especially the Moon Bridge, are wonderful. Thanks for sharing!
